Rural America is currently subject to a wide variety of special interests and corporate elites that seek to exploit them. This is because rural America controls significant parts of our economy that revolve around natural resources, from agriculture to mining and even tourism to our National Parks and other amazing natural features. To accomplish their goals of exploitation and control, special interests and corporate elites have been working to defund rural education, take over rural America's public lands, restrict rural Americans' civil liberties, and subject them to propaganda that convinces them that all of these things are good and that their enemy is each other or foreigners rather than the special interests and corporate elites. Rural Liberation aims to liberate rural America from these special interests and corporate elites by organizing rural Americans around what can be done locally to fight against them and then building a movement that crosses race, class, gender, and other identities to empower rural Americans to fight against the special interests and corporate elites. This movement will be built through civic engagement and mutual aid. An organized and united rural America will be a stronger rural America.
