Our for-profit healthcare system is not equipped to meet the needs of rural America. With over 700 hospitals at risk of closing in rural America, it's simply too expensive for a for-profit healthcare system to justify operation in places where the cost is too great. Rural Liberation will advocate for policies that will transform our healthcare system from one focused on profits, to one focused on people. These policies include expanding Medicaid, a public option for the Affordable Care Act, and moving to universal healthcare (on both state and national levels). The end goal is to ensure rural communities have access to the healthcare they need.
